the staff were rly friendly n super helpful. room was clean n comfy, just like a home from home. breakfast had plenty of options, i loved the free coffee n tea in the room. very close to hillsborough, so perfect location for us, and parking was reserved which was great. felt like a nice escape after a long trip.
the stairs were quite steep which was a bit of a hassle, and the room could've use more space.

The charming decor of the Alara felt like a warm hug, with bright colors and cozy touches. The well-lit stairs, though steep, had sturdy railings that made me feel safer navigating up and down during my stay.
More accessible bathroom facilities would be ideal.

the alara is truly a home away from home! the rooms were bright and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast offered a great variety. what stood out was the magnificent service from katie, who treated us like family. plus, it's just a short walk to the tramlines festival.

Had a lovely time here during three nights of our stay! We enjoyed unwinding in the cozy lounge and the delightful backyard garden after visiting the city. Just a heads up, the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at times, but it didn't really take away from our experience. 😊

I recently stayed at The Alara for one night, drawn in by its positive reviews. The welcome from Katie was warm and friendly, making me feel right at home from the start. My room was clean, with ample tea and coffee making facilities and a handy wash basin. The shared toilet and shower were on the floor below, which I found manageable. The cleanliness throughout was a strong point. I enjoyed the full English breakfast, which was one of the best I’ve had. The portions were generous, featuring all the classic elements, served by cheerful staff. The location is perfect for getting to Hillsborough Stadium and the tram lines. just a short walk away. the steep and narrow stairs to the top floor were a bit of a challenge, especially with luggage. The noise from the main road could be bothersome when the window was open, although the glazing helped a lot. I experienced some cold drafts in my room, making it a tad uncomfortable for sleeping. Despite these minor inconveniences, the ambiances were nice and made for a pleasant stay. If you stay here, be ready for the steep climb and have a peaceful rest afterward.
